The Environmental Health Unit promote, regulate and enforce environmental laws to ensure health and safety standards are adhered to, through strategic collaboration.

Market Sanitation

The unit conduct market inspection to ensure food safety.

Market traders are advised to cover their food products with net to avoid flies settling on them. They are also educated not to place ready to eat food products on the bare ground.

Water Sanitation And Hygiene Activities

The unit embark on regular water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) education in communities and schools in order to adhere to environmental health and sanitation standards. The unit train and supervise WATSAN activities with water quality analysis in the respective communities in order to promote sanitation and proper handling of water from the point of collection to their various homes.

Stores Inspection

The unit conduct stores inspection to ensure that products that are sold to the general public are wholesome and good for human consumption.

This include check for expired, rusted and dented products which are not healthy for human consumption are retrieve from shelves and fridges.

 The unit destroys the seized products when there is no litigation.

The owners of such products are served with criminal summons to appear before court for explanations when there is litigation.

 An order is granted for destruction of the seized products in a sanitary manner.
