FANTEAKWA NORTH DISTRICT 69TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

On March 6, 1957, Ghana gained independence, a momentous day that is celebrated yearly throughout the country.

The Fanteakwa North District commemorated the national event with a vibrant march-past parade that included schoolchildren. A number of dignitaries attended the celebration, including District Chief Executive Hon. Osumanu Abubakar(DCE), Hon. Kwame Appiah Koduah, a member of parliament(Fanteakwa North), Mr. Daniel Tetteh, the district coordinating director, heads of departments, members of the clergy, traditional leaders (Nananom), staff from the security services, teachers, students, and members of the general public.


The parade, held at the Presby School Park, featured approximately 500 students drawn from various schools in the district. The march‑past added vibrancy and excitement to the celebration, making it a memorable occasion for all participants.

The DCE, Hon. Osumanu Abubakar, gave a statement before the parade started outlining the importance of the day and urging the young people to preserve the virtues of hard work, unity, and patriotism.

The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the best‑performing schools in the parade, as well as to students who excelled in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
